Can I get to Tours using public transport?
There are several daily Tours/Chinon TER bus or train services. You can take demand-responsive transport from Chinon train station Monday-Friday:

Is the museum wheelchair-friendly?
The museum is not suitable for wheelchairs. Please visit reception to pick up a tablet taking you on a virtual tour of the museum.
Are the grounds free to visit?
No, you must have a ticket to visit the grounds.
Are there lockers at the museum?
There’s a facility next to the main building for visitors to store backpacks, helmets and bike/motorcycle bags.
Do I need to book ahead?
No, you don’t need to book ahead to visit.
However, groups must book ahead for general admission, guided tours and events.
I’ve bought my tickets online. Can I use them when I want?
Your e-tickets are valid for the date you enter when you buy them on the website https://billetterie-musee-rabelais.departement-touraine.fr/.
They are non-refundable (unless visitors are unable to enter the Musée Rabelais due to the site being closed in unforeseen circumstances). However, you can amend or exchange your tickets online as long as you do so before the date you originally chose to visit. You cannot amend or exchange your tickets after the date stated on your ticket.
What’s the best way to visit with young children?
You can use your pushchair outside and inside but the 1 st floor of the main residence is not suitable for pushchairs. You can pick up a free games booklet for children to explore the museum. There are fun-filled resources throughout the museum. Please ask at reception.
How long does it take to visit La Devinière?
Set aside around 1.5 hr to explore the entire site: museum, grounds, vineyards and troglodyte caves.
Can I bring a picnic?
You can bring a picnic to eat in the museum grounds in July and August when the museum is open non-stop from 10am-7pm. There are a few tables and seats available for visitors.
Are dogs allowed?
Dogs are allowed in the grounds and must be kept on a lead. Dogs are also allowed inside the château in a pet carrier.
Guide dogs for sight-impaired visitors are allowed throughout the site.
Other types of pet are not allowed.
Can I buy bottles of wine on the museum website?
La Devinière wine is only available from the shop on-site. Home delivery is not available.
